(why we built these walls)
You and I
not as we are
long ago in
a place so far
In turmoil
of secrets known
I grabbed your hand
and hid you ‘lone
Behind walls
of silent heart
you’re never found
we’re kept apart
Where you went
I never knew
yet prayed you well
and missed you true…

There is only one answer
for all Life’s questions
and it isn’t 42,
but you will never find it
hiding in the dark
and it will never find you.

Of all the dreams I’ve dared to dream
my heart is grounded to one from youth
of how I wanted my life to be
and all the things I wanted to do
With all my hopes of love and peace
for this world to see and learn
wishing for a combined release
of all hatred, fear and anger
But somewhere else along the [...]

attention for awhile
You got
off “stress-relief”
fell asleep with a smile
You thought
I was too young
to remember at five
But I
still am fighting
the memory’s alive
I learned
how to get the
favor I never gained
In your
eyes filled with lies
after the day that stained
I grew
away from you
into addiction’s grip
You blamed
me (acting out)
and [...]

I am no other woman out there
I fly in the face of conventionality
I balk at the word, “normal”
I don’t care who’s in charge
I am polite and respectful–even when provoked
(unless you’re just begging real hard for it)
I am a vivid dreamer and I pay attention
I am intrinsically optimistic with a flair for sarcasm
I wear this heart [...]
