Reaching for a song in silence,
I’ve dreamt it many times,
to follow it through the pits of hell
dancing it’s rhythms and rhymes.
The melody carries me along
whenever I get lost;
I try to harmonize my part
and reverb every cost.
The lyrics flow from high above
and filter through my soul
into the wonderment of Life
to make each lesson whole.

Crystal white sands
sparkling under the moon
sifting twixt my toes
on a beach from yesterday
Seasprays wafting
amidst the midnight breezes
lighting on my face
from an ocean far away
soft waves crashing
against the peaceful silence
pulling back my tears
under Johnny Mercer’s Pier
Sweet memories
of a time that once stood still
dancing with my heart
on the island of my youth.

could never express
all that we learned
at the top of those steps
We shared all our firsts
and all of our bests
gave into our worsts
at the top of those steps
We learned how to Love
with an unending depth
we gave all we had
at the top of those steps
We learned how to share
how to make a good mess
