Let Yourself go
find a way to
Lend Yourself to others
so that you can
Look inside Yourself
when Life gets tough
and Laugh at Yourself
while Learning to
Love Yourself
because you still have to
Live with Yourself

Some things
should never be
in the hands of a child
I had
your “ten-minute game”
attention for awhile
You got
off “stress-relief”
fell asleep with a smile
You thought
I was too young
to remember at five
But I
still am fighting
the memory’s alive
I learned
how to get the
favor I never gained
In your
eyes filled with lies
after the day that stained
I grew
away from you
into addiction’s grip
You blamed
me (acting out)
