Live like a flower of many petals:
~
Reach for the sun,
sway in the wind,
thirst for the rain,
and die to be plucked.
~
Nourish others with your sweetness,
release seeds of Love into the World,
and paint on Nature’s canvas
with the unique colors of your Life.

Out Of Water

I dug myself a deep hole
and blindly jumped right in.
On my own, I dove head-first
into that bottle of gin.
Like a lobster in the pot
I relaxed into sloe breath
while everything around me
almost simmered me to death.
It’s the ones I hurt the most
that have been my saving grace;
God was right in front of me
waving a finger in [...]

The crispy little tenderlings
that go crunch beneath my feet
releasing me from summer things
are predicting trick-or-treat.
Soon will come the harvest’s reapings,
a bountiful happy feast,
spread out about the table’s wings
with mirthy golden honey-yeast.
Then we’ll dress in yuletide trimmings
the home, hearth and even me!
And package our hearts for giftings
while setting our wishes free.
For some sprinkled snowcream pleasings,
we’ll belt [...]

Of A Lifetime

(why we built these walls)
You and I
not as we are
long ago in
a place so far
In turmoil
of secrets known
I grabbed your hand
and hid you ‘lone
Behind walls
of silent heart
you’re never found
we’re kept apart
Where you went
I never knew
yet prayed you well
and missed you true…

The Worst Lie of All

Be quiet
deny it
but don’t say a word
I’m broken
unspoken
the things I have heard
Just give me
this moment
to believe the absurd
To be right
yet so wrong
the line is so blurred
As I sit
in the spit
of all that’s occurred
I just want
to know if
I’ll be remembered

Of all the dreams I’ve dared to dream
my heart is grounded to one from youth
of how I wanted my life to be
and all the things I wanted to do
With all my hopes of love and peace
for this world to see and learn
wishing for a combined release
of all hatred, fear and anger
But somewhere else along the [...]

In the Hands of a Child

Some things
should never be
in the hands of a child
I had
your “ten-minute game”
attention for awhile
You got
off “stress-relief”
fell asleep with a smile
You thought
I was too young
to remember at five
But I
still am fighting
the memory’s alive
I learned
how to get the
favor I never gained
In your
eyes filled with lies
after the day that stained
I grew
away from you
into addiction’s grip
You blamed
me (acting out)
and [...]
